Bill #935 is OFFICIAL!
Seizure First Aid Legislation Signed Into Law
Thanks to years of advocacy, education, and community outreach, South Carolina’s Seizures in the Workplace legislation, S. 935, has officially been signed into law as Act No. 229. The Governor signed the legislation on May 19, 2026.
The new law requires the South Carolina Department of Public Health to make evidence-based seizure first-aid information available and requires state governmental entities to display the information in a clearly visible and accessible location frequented by employees. This important step will help more people recognize seizures and understand how to respond safely and appropriately in the workplace.
For Epitome of Epilepsy and founder JenVon Cherry, this milestone represents years of education, outreach, testimony, and advocacy alongside the epilepsy community - turning awareness into meaningful action and helping make seizure safety more visible across South Carolina.

Together, we shine a light on courage, awareness, and the power of community.
